Luxury & Specialty Finishes
Traditional Moroccan waterproof plaster — the ultimate luxury spa bathroom finish.
Overview
Tadelakt is an ancient Moroccan lime plaster technique that creates a completely waterproof, seamless surface — originally used in hammams (bathhouses) and royal palaces. What makes tadelakt unique is its finishing process: the plaster is polished with flat river stones and sealed with olive oil soap, creating a surface that's naturally waterproof without any synthetic sealers. The result is an organic, luminous finish with subtle color variations and a tactile warmth that tile and stone simply cannot match. It's the ultimate choice for luxury bathrooms, showers, and spa environments.
Our Process
Cement board or equivalent waterproof substrate is installed and prepared for tadelakt.
Premium Marrakech lime is prepared with natural pigments — this must cure before application.
Tadelakt plaster is applied in a single thick layer over the prepared substrate.
While still setting, the surface is compacted and polished with smooth river stones.
Olive oil black soap is worked into the surface, reacting with the lime to create waterproofing.
The surface receives its final burnish, developing the deep, luminous sheen tadelakt is known for.
